My 100th Post! (and a cookbook give away!)

This is my 100th post!!! Let's celebrate! (Granted this is from our rehearsal dinner, but it was a celebration too!)

Wow, how time flies when you are cooking, eating, and traveling. I love having this sooperfamerjo and sharing all my cooking ideas. If nothing else, it saves my friends from having to listen to my food blathering!

I will stop talking about travel here soon and go back to cooking. I have been practicing my Thai recipes so I can share them!

I have to celebrate my 100th post with my first give away. I am giving away a new copy of Paul Gayler's Flavors cookbook. It is wonderful cookbook that focuses on different spice, herbs, or flavors and how to incorporate them into different dishes.
For example, in the cardamom chapter there is a short informational essay about the spice which is followed by recipes. Lamb with Cardamom, Rhubarb and Cardamom Clafouti, and Lebanese Lentil Soup.

Even if you are not a cookbook cooker it has wonderful photos to inspire you!

  1. Happy 100th post! I love reading about all the cool food you cook.

Don't stop talking about travel.....I am living vicariously through you right now.

I love cookbooks. I have five boxes stacked up in my kitchen to attest to that. There are also some binders full of printouts and clippings AND some magazine files full that haven't been packed yet. I pity our movers!

  2. I always enjoy my stop at your blog; being from the pnw myself, I appreciate reading about uses of seasonal foods.

Although I rarely follow a recipe exactly, I do love cookbooks. It sounds like Flavors would be very inspiring!

  3. Ok, so I just started following your blog, but I'll comment anyway because I don't want to be left out of the running for a free cookbook!

Your use of seasonal foods is inspiring. I wish things were a little different up here -- I don't always have time for the farmer's market, and we don't really carry local foods in the grocery store.

Also, I agree with Not Jenny about your travel posts.

I think you know how to get a hold of me, but if you don't, drop me a line on my blog.

The winner will be very fortunate! Happy Cooking and Happy Eating to you all! Thank you Farmer Jo for that trip to Thailand!
