Four Little Things

Olive Oil
Kosher Salt
Smoked Paprika
Fresh Ground Pepper

Who knew such simple ingredients could create such wonderful culinary creations? I have yet to make anything with these ingredients which was not a tasty treat. (Well, not sweets, but I have been enjoying salt on my brown sugar cookies.)

A dinner time staple around here is roasted cauliflower. Toss chopped cauliflower with olive oil and spread on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle liberally with smoked paprika, kosher salt and a few twists of black pepper. Throw in a 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes until cooked and just a bit browned.
We experimented with kale this way too. It need a little tweaking, but it the favor was great. Anyone have any other kale recipe ideas?

What are your go-to ingredients?

  2. Go to ingredients = olive oil and garlic. You can't go wrong with that combo, lemon and parsley are a match made in mediterranean heaven, and brown sugar and butter will take care of anything not already covered by the other Go To's
