Day 21: Healthcare

One year ago today I checked into the hospital in hopes that it would help hurry the arrival of Levi. I was afraid and in pain.  It took a few days, but the loving care of the doctors and nurses made all the difference.
First I am so thankful for nurses and doctors. They make all the difference when things get rough. I am especially thankful to the post partum nurses who helped me heal and also taught Justin and I how to care for Levi's basic needs.

A few weeks after Levi was born we got the bill for Levi's birth and my week in the hospital. It was close to $40,000. That really cemented my thankfulness for my healthcare. All people deserve good healthcare. I hope we see that one day in this country.

  1. I second that! The bills I've racked up so far during this pregnancy have been pretty high and I've hardly had to pay anything. Of course, my premium would not be considered low, but I'm definitely getting my money's worth right now!

  2. I agree! I've had a pregnancy, and several surgeries. I can't even imagine what the costs would have been had I not had good health insurance.
