Cooking Class!

I am so excited that on Friday I will be teaching my first cooking class to a group of students. 4 middle schoolers and their moms will be joining me to learn the basics of Vietnamese salad rolls and sticky rice pudding. I am beyond thrilled to have this opportunity!

I have made my shopping list, supply list and written the recipes. I am trying to visualize anything that could trip us up. I have a tiny dream that teaching these small classes will become a regular activity for me. It would be wonderful to combine three things I really adore - teaching and cooking AND kids!

What would you look for in a children's cooking class? If you have done it previously, any advice?

If you are in the Portland Area and are interested in cooking classes for young folks (Ages 7-18+) please contact me. I have multiple menu ideas focusing on fresh, healthy ingredients and cooking from scratch. (Hmm, very similar to this blog.) I will happily tailor a menu to fit kids tastes and interests.

Wish me Luck!  :)

Edited to add: The class was a blast! I received great feedback from the young women and was even asked to come back! :) I can't wait to do this again.

  1. Good luck! I'm sure it will go well, and that if any small things go wrong, you will be able use them to improve the classes for next time!
